Amy was raised in the south, but it gets a little complicated after that. As a Methodist minister’s daughter, she spent her life moving every 2-5 years, most of which was spent in South Carolina with a 3 year stint in Georgia. To make matters complicated, she attended a church in Charlotte while living in Rock Hill, so she is now a Provisional Elder in the Western North Carolina Conference.

She has a Master of Divinity from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Business Minor from The University of South Carolina-Columbia.

This is the third church Amy has served, with her first being the Pastor of the Friendship/Browns Summit Charge in Browns Summit, NC and her second as Associate Pastor of Evangelism at Weddington UMC. Her heart soars every time she sees the community come together in ministry, and she loves seeing people use their individual gifts to come together as a community to glorify God. She is also passionate about having conversations about theology with those who have questions or simply want a good debate.

Her other loves are her family, which includes two sisters who have gifted her with two nephews and a niece, and her Jack Russell Molly, who rotates her attitude between spunky and curmudgeonly. She is also active in USA Powerlifting as a competitive athlete, referee, and certified coach.
