Who is Hill’s Chapel?

Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church is in Catawba Valley District of the Western North Carolina Conference. We are located in Lowesville in eastern Lincoln County. Our church thrives on serving others within our community. We put our faith into action by making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, which is our church’s mission.

What do we believe?

The United Methodist church is a global church that opens hearts, opens minds, and opens doors through active engagement with our world. John Wesley and the early Methodists placed emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action! What Wesley referred to “practical divinity” has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today. Check out our links to learn more about the United Methodist theological heritage.

Where Can I Serve?
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community,

Music Ministry
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

United Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women at Hill’s Chapel share their time and talents to provide wonderful events for our church. Events will be noted on the Church Calendar and in “The Hill’s Chapel House Call”. For questions about a group please contact Mae Goff, president of UMW at goff165@bellsouth.net or call the church office @ 704-827-9511.
The UMW consists of two subgroups called circles. These groups meet monthly and work separately and jointly on various projects through the year.
The two circles are:
Naomi-Chair, Cammie Chapman
Abigail-Chair, Mae Goff

United Methodist Men

Each month our United Methodist Men support East Lincoln Christian Ministry by volunteering to work or pick up donated items from various homes.
Children’s Ministry
Hill’s Chapel strives to enrich the lives of our children by teaching them about our Heavenly Father through creative and fun ways.
Our Kidz Klub Program is a hit with all who attend. Children ages 3 years through 5th grade join for dinner, a supervised craft and games. Our leaders are Safe Sanctuary trained. Reservations are not required. Drop off the kids for two hours of Christian fun or feel free to attend with them. Kidz Klub also offers Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and Breakfast with Santa each year. Dates and times for upcoming Kidz Klub events will be included in in the Church Calendar and in the “Kidz Klub” section of our homepage.
The children stay in the 10:00 church service, on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, until after the Joys and Concerns segment. They they go to the Nelson Center for the remaining Church Service. The children study the same theme as the adults during worship. They will learn songs, hear the Bible story, make crafts, and do many other activities that pertain to the theme.
On Communion Sundays, the children stay in worship with their families to partake in communion.
